The threat is real…

The Journal of the American Medical Association reports "…community-associated methicillin-resistant Stapholococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) has become the most frequent cause of skin and soft tissue infections presenting to emergency departments in the United States."1 Although the majority of MRSA cases are health-care related, today's headlines herald a troubling trend – young, athletic teens and children are being diagnosed with MRSA infections – and because MRSA infections do not respond to typical antibiotic treatment, some of them are dying.

Who is at risk?

MRSA can live on surfaces such as doorknobs, stethoscopes, gym equipment, and towels. All it takes for MRSA to spread is simple contact between a carrier and a susceptible person. Think of a dorm resident picking up her roomate's towel, or a doctor's coat brushing up against a patient's bed. Maybe the day-care worker doesn't disinfect the toys as well as they should. Perhaps the last person at the free weights at the gym was a carrier – and you have an unbandaged paper cut. You are at risk.

What if there were an easy way to disinfect schools, hospitals, child-care centers, gyms, medical offices, and other public areas? There is!

Electrostatic Spraying Systems, Inc. (ESS) is partnering with several prominent companies to develop protocols and methods to reduce MRSA infections. With the use of our safe and effective electrostatic sprayers, disinfecting chemicals can be evenly applied to large areas with minimal chemiclal exposure for the workers who apply the disinfectants.
